My Passion Project
Madison Outdoor Yoga
In 2013 I had this crazy idea to teach free yoga in the parks around Madison, WI to whomever wanted to show up. With a borrowed meetup group, a couple of mats and the idea that everyone should have access to yoga, I started up Madison Outdoor Yoga. I made the classes free/donation based so that cost would never be an issue. We moved around to different parks to ensure that access to transportation would not be a barrier. And we tried to schedule classes at a time that would work for the most people.
Throughout the years I realized that much more needed to be done to allow everyone access to yoga and mindfulness. I believe that classes should be affordable, that everyone should be able to participate, and that students should be able to find teachers that shared their culture, language, and life experiences.

I have finally realized my dream of creating the Madison Outdoor Yoga Nonprofit with the intent to further accessible yoga practices.
